Photographing Life Where You Live It

One of my favorite things about lifestyle photography is getting to step into people's worlds and see how they've created their own version of home. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a couple on their beautiful piece of land in Southern Indiana, where they live in a camper surrounded by woods. This session reminded me why I love on-location photography so much. It's not about the size of your space or whether it looks like a magazine spread. It's about capturing the life you've built and the love that fills it.

The Beauty of Authentic On-Location Sessions

What made this session so special was how genuinely comfortable they were. There was no posing in unfamiliar locations or trying to look natural in unnatural settings. Instead, we captured:

• Them sitting on their porch swing, just like they do every evening
• Their dogs joining in for cuddles (because family photos should include all family members!)
• The way they interact in their actual living space, natural, relaxed, and completely themselves
• The gorgeous natural surroundings they wake up to every day
• Moments by the outdoor fireplace that showed their cozy, intentional lifestyle

This session on their land, with their porch, their dogs, their woods, and their unique lifestyle, produced some of the most authentic, beautiful couple photos I've taken.
